Admissions for Infant and Junior Schools

Belvedere Infant and Junior Schools extends a warm welcome to all.

We are a part of The Pioneer Academy. We are an inclusive school that welcomes children from all backgrounds and abilities.

All parents interested in requesting a place at Belvedere Infant or Junior Schools are offered a warm welcome and invited to meet with the Executive Head Teacher or other senior leader for an informal guided tour. Please contact the schools to arrange a tour, whether your child is joining at the beginning of the academic year or transferring in-year.

A copy of our admissions policy can be found on our policies page. Scroll down to the bottom to Infant and Junior School policies where you will find the current Admissions policy.

All applications shall be received and offers made individually by the Local Authority in common with other Bexley Primary Schools.

Admissions to Reception 2025-2026

The standard number for admissions to Reception is 90. The published admission number is inclusive of students with an Education, Health and Care Plan in accordance with the relevant statutory requirements.

All applications shall be made on line at https://www.bexley.gov.uk/services/schools-and-education/school-admissions

The Bexley School Admissions Brochure 2025 can also be found via the above link.

If this is not possible a paper application form can be collected from the Civic Offices.

Admission to Nursery Classes 2025-2026

Admission numbers for nursery classes at Belvedere Infant and Nursery School are 26 for morning sessions and 26 for afternoon sessions.

Children with a statement of special educational need or an Education, Health and Care Plan naming a school will be admitted to that school as a result of that process and will be given precedence for admission.

Admission to Year Three 2025 – 2026

The school admits 90 pupils into the three Year 3 classes each September. Places for Year 3 are allocated by Bexley Admissions who co-ordinate pupil admissions for Belvedere Junior School.

In year applications

In-year admissions are co-ordinated by Bexley Admissions who operate the waiting list for our school. Please contact them for details of available places or use their in-year application form available to download from Applying for school in-year | London Borough of Bexley.

If you have been informed by Bexley Admissions that your child has been allocated a place at Belvedere Infant or Junior School, you will be contacted by the school and invited to visit with your child. Parents will be given an application pack to complete and offered the opportunity to visit the school. Once all the relevant documentation has been received you will be given a date for your child to join us at Belvedere Infant or Junior School.

Please contact the school if you require further information and to book a tour of the school

Belvedere Junior School – email at admin@bjs.bexley.sch.uk or call on 01322 431404

The Local Authority holds all waiting lists for places that may become available throughout the year. Parents of children not offered places will also be informed of the appeals procedure.  Parents have a statutory right to appeal in the event of Bexley admissions’ decision not to offer a place. Although Bexley is the admissions authority, an independent panel considers appeals and their decision is binding on both parties.
