Pupil Voice
at Belvedere Infant and Juniors Schools
At Belvedere Infant and Junior Schools, we ensure every child has the opportunity to be heard. Every week, our children share their voices through lesson discussions and ‘Picture News’, where they learn to communicate ideas thoughtfully within our class communities. We believe our pupils must have ownership of their learning, and it is vital that adults truly listen. Our various councils represent our diverse school community, ensuring our children are active role models who make a big, positive impact on their safe, happy environment.
School Council
Through the School Council, representatives from Reception to Key Stage 2 suggest ideas that drive real change. Nominated for their leadership qualities, these members meet regularly with staff and The Pioneer Academy CEO to discuss how to improve the school experience. They act as the bridge between their peers and leadership, ensuring that new opinions are taken seriously and acted upon to improve our learning environment.
Eco Council
The Eco Council is a group of enthusiastic children dedicated to making our school a cleaner, greener place. Meeting every half term, they lead the way in keeping our grounds litter-free and teaching us how today’s choices impact the world’s future. From promoting recycling and energy saving to reducing plastic waste, the team inspires the whole school to protect nature and build a more sustainable community for everyone.
Diversity Council
The Diversity Council ensures our school is a welcoming, inclusive space where every culture and identity is celebrated. This team works to promote kindness and equality, ensuring every child feels a true sense of belonging. By exploring global traditions and challenging stereotypes through displays and shared stories, the council helps us embrace our ‘Unity in Diversity’ and ensures every individual is valued for who they are.
